Yoshoku

An intimate Japanese dining experience inspired by a playful West-meets-East philosophy, where Chef Ry Nitzkowski brings a distinctly New York perspective to Western interpretations of Japanese cuisine. Offering includes an exceptional afternoon tea, an à la carte dinner menu, a chef-curated kaiseki tasting menu, and a rare Japanese whisky collection.

As Chef Partner, Michael Anthony oversees Lex Yard, the hotel’s signature restaurant, guiding its culinary vision while delivering a dining experience defined by creativity, craftsmanship, and seasonality.

Yoshoku Afternoon Tea

Yoshoku presents a Japanese afternoon tea that blends the hotel’s historic tea tradition with the modern spirit of Yoshoku cuisine. Rooted more in kaiseki than traditional high tea, the experience highlights balance and seasonality. Guests enjoy Japanese-inspired tea sandwiches, warm scones, and refined sweets, paired with loose-leaf teas from Brooklyn-based Kettl, sourced directly from revered growers throughout Japan.

Peacock Alley Live Music Series: Cole & Friends

Hosted in the iconic Peacock Alley, the “Cole & Friends” series is an intimate, nightly musical residency paying tribute to legendary composer and songwriter Cole Porter, one of the Waldorf Astoria’s most famous long-term residents. Guest performers play alongside the historic, 1907 custom-built Steinway grand piano, affectionately named “High Society”, which the hotel originally gifted to Porter and on which he composed many of his greatest hits.

The series features a rotating lineup of world-class talent, spanning Broadway stars and Grammy-winning artists to pianists, guitarists, and contemporary composers. Take a look at this week’s line-up to see who’s performing.
