Peacock Alley

At the heart of Waldorf Astoria New York, Peacock Alley is New York’s living room. Beneath the legendary Grand Clock, generations have gathered around one simple invitation: “Meet me at the clock.”

For more than a century, Peacock Alley has welcomed presidents and royalty, movie stars and musicians, New Yorkers and travelers alike. Anchored by the hotel’s iconic Grand Clock, commissioned by Queen Victoria for the 1893 World’s Fair and later acquired by the Astor family, it has always been more than a place to meet. It is where the city comes together. Where chance introductions become lifelong friendships, celebrations unfold, and on any given evening, the piano can become the stage for an unforgettable performance.

That spirit lives on today. By day, Peacock Alley offers a refined setting for breakfast, coffee, lunch, afternoon tea, and conversation. As evening falls and the clock strikes 5:00PM, it transforms into one of Manhattan’s most stylish cocktail destinations.

The cocktail program, created by award-winning mixologist Jeff Bell, celebrates timeless classics through a contemporary lens. Signature cocktails, an exciting line-up of martinis, hand-crafted cocktails and old fashions.

The menu reimagines American classics with elevated ingredients and subtle nods to the hotel’s culinary history, from lavish seafood platters and caviar service to housemade Pigs in a Blanket, an indulgent Lobster Roll, and of course Chef Michael Anthony’s fresh take on the Waldorf Salad.
